Storage

Storage before the Amazon inbound shipment

Hold goods in Germany as a buffer and send partial quantities on to Amazon – instead of pushing the whole volume into the FBA warehouse at once.

Why interim storage makes sense

Amazon charges storage fees based on the volume occupied and raises them significantly in the fourth quarter. On top of that, Amazon's capacity limits restrict how much stock a seller account may store at all. Anyone who sends a whole container load into the FBA warehouse at once therefore pays twice: once for storage space they do not yet need, and once in the form of limits that are then missing for fast-moving items.

The practical alternative is a buffer in Germany: the whole quantity comes to us, is inspected and prepared, and you call it off in partial quantities as your stock at Amazon runs down.

The capital tied up stays the same, storage costs fall, and you keep control over how much stock sits in the FBA network and when.

What storage costs

For goods for which an FBA prep service is booked at the same time, the first 14 days of interim storage are free of charge. After that we charge pro rata for the actual storage period.

  • Interim storage with FBA prep booked: first 14 days €0.00.
  • Carton storage: €1.20 per carton per month.
  • Pallet storage: €19.00 per Euro pallet per month.
  • Small-quantity storage: €2.00 per month for a dedicated shelf space – suitable for test consignments.
  • Goods receipt without complete prep: €1.50 per carton. Free of charge only when the FBA complete prep is booked.
  • Pallet receiving: €6.00 per pallet – irrespective of whether a prep service is booked.

Our services are aimed exclusively at businesses within the meaning of § 14 BGB (German Civil Code).

Calling off replenishment

If you want to send a partial quantity on to Amazon, create the shipping plan in your Seller Central and send us the shipment ID together with the shipping labels and the quantity required.

We pick from the stored stock, make up the shipment cartons or pallets in line with Amazon's requirements and hand them over to the carrier. FBA carton handling costs €2.90 per carton and pallet handling €18.00 per pallet.

The remaining stock stays in storage and is ready for the next call-off.

What we do not store

We do not store dangerous goods, goods requiring refrigeration or items subject to special official requirements, unless this has been expressly agreed in writing.

Where goods have been held for more than 60 days without an outbound order, we will write to you giving 14 days' notice before arranging alternative storage or disposal. The details are set out in § 7 of our terms and conditions.

Frequently asked questions

How long can I store goods with you?
In principle indefinitely. The first 14 days are free of charge when an FBA prep service is booked; after that we invoice monthly on a pro rata basis. After 60 days without an outbound order we will get in touch with you.
Is billing by the day or by the month?
Pro rata for the actual storage period, based on the monthly rates per carton or pallet.
Can I call off partial quantities?
Yes, that is the normal case. You send us the shipment ID and the quantity required, we pick the goods and send the inbound shipment; the rest stays in storage.
Are the goods insured?
Liability for physical damage to stored goods is governed by § 6 of our terms and conditions. Please arrange any goods insurance beyond that yourself.
